Until I See You Again

Sabrina and Molly,

Never in my life have I had friends as special as you. I know right now is a really sad time for all of us, but I also know that because our friendship is so strong, it won't be possible to drift apart. (Plus, Molly is kind of a stalker. She wouldn't let it happen, even if we wanted it to, which we don't!)

It's a little crazy how different we are, and yet how nicely we fit! Molly, the self-proclaimed baby of the group, the little diva used to being taken care of and single lady on the prowl. Sabrina, the level-headed no-nonsense but fun loving girl, prone to exclaiming WHAT??? and startling strangers, who is a newly-wed (almost). And me, the seasoned veteran of life, new mom, with my finger on the pulse of everything that is cool  (no objections!).  All three of us at different stages in life, learning and laughing together, from one another, and at each other. :) I love how awesome we are.

You are both strong, intelligent, independent and beautiful people. If I had one regret, it would be that we didn't meet sooner in life. With friends like you by my side, I feel I could have been a happier person through some tough times.  But! As if there haven't been tough times in the past 2 years!

Talking about life with you two has at different moments inspired me, pushed me, confused me (data? huh?) and guided me. Thank you for all of the talks. You helped me through nine months of pregnancy, when every day was a new scare or worry for me. You probably let me pig out a few times too many on the chocolate ice cream, but how can I blame you? SO GOOD. You taught me how to look forward to the future and embrace my ballooning and morphing body. I probably should have had a mold made of my pregnant belly for Molly. Thanks for hanging out with me so much and doing silly, normal things and making me laugh so much. Alannah is such a happy baby, and I bet it is because you two helped keep me happy in those loooong, hot nine months.

You two are amazing teachers, thoughtful coworkers, and wonderful friends. I'm proud of you like a big sister, and I know the future is beyond bright for both of you. I'm lucky to have you in my life, and I will always hold a special place in my heart for you, for the love, kindness, and encouragement you have always showered upon me. Even though you are both younger than me, I really do look up to you two. You show me there are different ways to do things, better ways and how to be a stronger woman.  I am going to miss you both LIKE CRAZY!!! I'm not sure what Baltimore holds for me, but it's probably full of nerds who don't know how to have fun like we do! Road trips and visits and stalking (Molly) must definitely be in our future.

I love you girls. I miss you already. A great big hug and a kiss, until I see you again.

And now, let's take a little trip down memory lane.......

The time Molly and I dressed the same on accident! Little did we know it would be a recurring theme.... I'm such a fashion icon, who can blame her?

The time Sabrina and I did the Color Run/Trot/Walk/Cough... We love rainbow teeth!

This may have been the night that Molly came to the dark side of Confetti Obsession. Look at that happy face! Little did we know she would come to abuse the confetti power....

Me and Sabrina laughing it up in San Alejo, just another ordinary night of Chiva, drinks and dancing! This was the start of us realizing how cool each other was.

Actually not sure where this was taken or when. But we three are together looking awesome and happy. Well, Sabrina looks not quite sure....  It must have been a great night.

Thanksgiving dinner at my house before it was my house! The infamous night of my husband interrupting the speech with "We're all cousins then!" Sabrina and I spiff up pretty well.

I got married! And you were both there to help us celebrate when we came back to Cali!

The night of quiz bowl, Christmas fun, and a despedida (Molly wasn't invited, surprise surprise) at the lesbian bar! It started to get embarrassing how much Molly imitated my everything. ;)

Another despedida night, another night of us being awesome.

A wedding shower for Kyla! Pool time, lots of snacks and drinks, and the three of us to make it great.

Baby Shower for me and Alannah! You ladies made me feel amazing.

A few days or weeks before giving birth. Counting down the days until Molly would stop rubbing my belly so much. Now I kinda miss it... ;)

Sabrina and I being really cool. Because we are. And there are limited moments together in an Arabian restaurant in Colombia where you can stand behind a Styrofoam Aladdin and Jasmine and have your photo taken!

Enjoying the company of two of the greatest girls I've ever met.

Yeah, yeah, and there was Luisa.... Super sexy Luisa strutting her stuff all over the place, her hips didn't lie and Molly forgot about my belly for the night. Thank you, Luisa!

This is the day we learned who has painting skills... and who doesn't. And, when we went to pick up our masterpieces, there was a little mixup... Sorry Molly.... and sorry random 5 year-old girl... LOL

And then Alannah was born!!! Sabrina, you were the only one to take photos of me with the baby that day, thank you so much for thinking to capture the moments that we were too busy enjoying to think about anything else. Thank you being our very safe ride home from the hospital. We went to the hospital as two, and you brought us home as three. Thank you for everything.

You both of course fell in love with my little doll. You both are amazing Aunties! Sabrina, the mother look suits you! ;)

It was fun having you two around to help me play dress-up. Thank you Molly for all the little gifts you gave her. You also were a natural with her!

Fun time baby time! Despite appearances in this photo, Alannah loves you both.

Ending my dry spell! Re-entering the life of normal people! You girls are so much fun. Having a baby is an amazing experience, but being free to have a beer on a friday night with the girls should not be undervalued.

Oh dear, then there was the 4th grade assembly... Leif Ericson, never forget... and maybe also never forget a pencil sharpener so I dont have to dull up a knife to color properly! I'm such a survivor, I could totally make it in the woods alone. Sabrina looks doubtful. :)

Classy, chic, cool... Just three little words that do NOT come to mind when I look at this photo! But I love it anyways. There are so many photos of us like this...

Ok we did better in this one. Fun time in Kukamakara, which I am only able to say or spell thanks to the wallpaper behind us in this photo.
(Update: upon revision, it appears I still did not get the spelling correct. Whatever, not fixing it.)

Made it to the top of Tres Cruces with a little help from you two! Lots of little breaks to "admire the view" aka catch my breath, while Molly never even broke a sweat. Thanks girls for the introduction to carrot juice, which I now know I hate.

Tres Monitas at the top of Tres Cruces! We did it!

Time for the real workout. Who wants to use the concrete barbells first?

A night at SALSA! You two have got moves, all kinds of moves... ;)

Before Jefferson's Surprise birthday party! This was before the sun went down and we were left in the dark without electricity. Decorating the apartment (although not quite enough symmetry for my taste), NO DAMAGES!!! Drinking in the dark and homemade confetti bombs! Sorry Sabrina, I created a confetti monster. You were the hostest with the mostest.

Getting the cake ready. I spy confetti in Sabrina's hair. As you can see, we take everything in life very seriously.

Molly, you hate birthdays or you love them? Did we change your mind yet?

A token of our love. Birthdays rule, Molly. You're crazy. Both please come to Baltimore for mine. :)

Surprise Birthday party for Molly! Tricky tricky friends you have... Also a fun night of dancing with fake booties and other parts...

You two are fantastic. This much fun cannot be duplicated with anyone else.

Was this Molly's birthday? Or was it the day we celebrated Alejo getting his visa? Both were great. Such a thoughtful little trio!

Colombia Day during Spirit Week, the best week of the year!!! Am I right or am I right?
or am I right? ;)

Sabrina's Bachelorette BONANZA!!! Massage, Lunch, Nails, Hair and Makeup, and then...

A very epic bachelorette party. So many details I cannot name here. But some I can refer to... a mullet, a sad whistle, 2 outfits, jungle juice, some playing cards, never have I ever, hiding on the patio, fake money, and an amazing pinata (thanks Alejo!). Also Bourbon Street, and Queens!

Just another night of us doing what we do, being cooler than everyone else.
Haters gonna hate.

One of several despedidas... We sure know how to make saying goodbye look like fun!

Time is shorter, and the goodbyes more difficult...

But this won't be the last photo of us!!! Not possible!

Love you both to bits.
Let's make sure there are more memories made, and more photos to add.
Love, Jessica
